Your Voice Matters: How to Get Involved with SEPAC in Conroe ISD

November 10, 20252 min read

Navigating the world of special education can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Conroe ISD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) exists to connect families, share resources, and strengthen collaboration between parents, educators, and district leadership.

Whether you’re new to special education or have years of experience advocating for your child, there’s a place for you here.

1. Attend a SEPAC Meeting

SEPAC meetings are open to all parents or guardians of students receiving special education services within Conroe ISD.

Each meeting is a chance to:

  • Learn about updates and initiatives within the district

  • Ask questions or share feedback

  • Connect with other families who “get it”

  • Contribute to meaningful discussions that help shape the district’s special education programs

You don’t need to speak to make an impact—just showing up is a powerful form of support.

2. Join as a Member

Becoming a SEPAC member is simple—and it ensures you’re part of the ongoing conversation.
Who can join:
Membership is open to parents and legal guardians of students currently receiving special education services in Conroe ISD.
Why it matters:
Members help guide SEPAC priorities, provide feedback to district leaders, and vote on key initiatives.

Even if you can’t attend every meeting, your participation keeps you connected and informed.

3. Volunteer or Serve on a Committee

SEPAC thrives because of parent volunteers who give their time and skills to strengthen our community.
You can help by:

  • Assisting with events or family workshops

  • Supporting communication and outreach efforts

  • Sharing your professional expertise (graphic design, communications, education, etc.)

  • Serving as a liaison for your child’s school or feeder zone

No contribution is too small—every role makes a difference.

4. Stay Connected

Follow SEPAC through our newsletter, website, or social media channels to stay informed about meeting dates, resources, and community updates.

You’ll find announcements about new initiatives, calls for feedback, and opportunities to celebrate student and family success stories across the district.

5. Share Your Experience

Your story has power. By sharing your perspective as a parent, caregiver, or advocate, you help others feel seen and supported—and you help the district better understand what works (and what doesn’t).

Opportunities to share your stories will be made available soon!

Getting involved with SEPAC isn’t just about attending meetings—it’s about joining a community of parents who care deeply about ensuring every student receives the support they deserve.
Together, we can create lasting change, strengthen communication, and celebrate progress for all students in Conroe ISD.
